New Year's Resolution

I have decided to make this blog my New Year's resolution.  I will try to start baking after the New Year begins.  I already promised a friend that I would make chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes, so that will be my first treat on this blog.  I'll get back to you then!

Welcome to The Kay-kery

I have always been thinking about opening a bakery and everyone I know thinks I should go for it.  I really just like baking and decorating cupcakes/cakes.  I am always up for a challenge and I love the show Ace of Cakes.  I am just getting started with this and will post pictures of all of my creations.  Please feel free to offer comments, suggestions, questions, or challenges for different projects I should do.  The first intense cake I ever created was a 3-D fishbowl cake.  It was pretty difficult but it turned out great.  So far all of my creations have been just using frosting and not using fondant.  That is my next goal to start trying out cakes with that and see how it works.  I started getting a little more serious about the decorating when my cousin started a softball team called "The Hangovers" and joined a league where they played every Sunday.  All of my friends loved them and considered them lucky.  Some friends and I started considering the possibility of a bakery someday.  This is the start of it.  I hope you enjoy all of the fun cakes/cupcakes that I produce!
